Corfu, known also as Kerkyra, is the northernmost of the Ionian Islands in Greece. Located off of the far northwest coast of the country, Corfu lies in the Adriatic sea, east of Italy and southwest of Albania.
The island is part of the Corfu regional unit, and is administered as a single municipality. The municipality includes the island Corfu and the smaller islands Ereikoussa, Mathraki and Othonoi.
Over the years this region gave us unfortunately a lot of maritime accidents.
Hellenic Rescue Team (Corfu Branch) has only one mission…
“Train our members and equip its department in every way in order to save as many life’s as we can.” wherever the element of water represents a danger to human life.
Being one of the most popular department our members are fully trained in Search and Rescue Boat Operators, lifeguards, scuba diving rescuers and first aid responders.
